As I write this, 2012 has less that 24 hours left in it. It's 12:15 am, on December 31st, 2012. I'm not sure why it seems that time goes by so much faster when we are adults. I never remember it flying by so fast when I was younger. As with every year, 2012 brought its own set of challenges and changes. Not all bad, not all good. But I can say, that for the most part, I am content with where I am at. There are things that I want to do differently in 2013, and I will work on that, but change happens one step at a time. Then, before you know it, you've made many small steps that have led you to your destination.
The great thing is, every day we can wake up and decide who it is that we want to be that day. One of my favorite novels is "Anne of Green Gables" by L.M. Montgomery. In the novel, Anne has a saying, "Tomorrow is a new day, with no mistakes in it yet." I love that quote. But I believe that we can change things even minute by minute. Every breath that God gives us is a chance that we have to live and to change things if we need to. There once was a pirate, who may have been smarter than we have given him credit for, who told someone, "The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem." Thanks Captain Jack. Who knew a pirate was so wise.
So the bigger question is, have you really had a bad year, or have you just had a bad attitude about the year? Either way, 2012 is over (In about 23 and 1/2 more hours..). Tomorrow, if the Good Lord wakes us up, we have a chance to make life better. For ourselves and for others.
What could you do to make the difference in 2013?

Time well spent
Today was a perfect day. B had spent the night last night, and we planned a full day. This morning started off with breakfast and a few games of Uno. B loves to play card games. And she hates to lose. So we had to keep playing until she won. We spent a little while just playing with her new toys. Her Hello Kitty CD and Karaoke machine is one of her new favorite toys.
Pretty special.
We then went and got haircuts. She is so precious.
Then we ended the day with a movie. We went to see Monsters Inc 3-D. She feel asleep as soon as the opening credits began and slept through almost to the end. Bless her heart.
We had went shopping last night to Old N@vy, because they were having an awesome sale. She picked out the most darling fleece pea coat. She wore that coat all day today. Bless her. She loves it. I didn't get a picture of her in it today, we were just too busy.
Now its sleeting/snowing outside. Perfect. I love winter weather. As long as I don't have to be out driving in it.....
Here is her singing debut of "Jingle Bells."

Christmas Round Up
Well, I suppose Christmas is over. =( Makes me sad. However, I chose to celebrate Christmas until New Year's Day. And then its the sadness of when it's time to pack up the decorations....Not my favorite time of the year. The weather today is finally "winter" like. We had sleet, freezing rain and some snow. I like it. I don't like to drive in it. But I like to be at home while its' falling.
Christmas was fabulous. I am so blessed. I have more than I deserve. My family is blessed. It couldn't have been any better. I hope that your holiday was as Blessed as mine.

I'm sitting here in bed on Christmas night, listening to the rain that has moved in to our area tonight, and I'm just feeling incredibly blessed. Christmas was great this year, and not stressful at all, so that made it even better. Usually, I am stressed to the max about making sure that everything is just "perfect", but this year, I just chose to enjoy the season. Doesn't it go by so fast? I feel like we just had Thanksgiving. Now, here we are at the end of the year.....
I'm always reflective this time of the year. What has the year brought? What do I want to do different? What am I glad to move past, and what am I looking forward to? I am so thankful for the love and the support I have received this year. I'm looking forward to all the new things that come with the new year. It's always a fresh start. Every year at Christmas, I take the week off from work. When I return, I do feel like its a fresh start at the office as well.
I hope everyone has joy and peace....this day and every day....
Merry Christmas!

Tuesday, Tuesday...
Okay, so, I know its supposed to be "Monday. Monday..." but I am changing it for me today. The last two days have been Hectic...yes, with a capital H. I'm halfway through my class for school, and I am so thankful...math and and I, we have a mutual distaste for each other.
Sunday started our rehearsals for the Candlelight Christmas service at our church....oh, how I love me some Christmas carols/songs by candlelight. Actually, I love Christmas music period. I'll confess, I've been listening to it on and off since late August....It makes me happy! And, really, I can listen to all the other music on the radio year round, but I only get a few short weeks to listen to Christmas music.
The next few weeks are going to be so busy with the holidays that are coming up! I love cooking for Thanksgiving and decorating for Christmas...It sure can get overwhelming at times, but I try to remember, all the hussle and bussle is not the reason why I am doing what I am doing....its to create memories and honor traditions...
Soon, I'm going to do a post on traditions in my family...but I'm curious...what are some traditions in your family?

Fab 5 Friday!
It has been so long since I have blogged. I've wanted to, but then I thought....is anyone really interested in what I have to say? And then I've realized, that this is really meant to be a journal for me....So today we will celebrate 5 things or products that I am really enjoying right now....
This is an amazing spray. I use it every day. It has protected my hair from all the hair drying and and flat ironing...and I think it adds a little bit of shine to it!

Then there is this really cool light up tumbler from Cool Gear Inc...It has Halloween scenes on it..and its super cute..but I can't find a pic online..but you can go see it on www.coolgearinc.com
Unglued is the new by Lysa TerKeurst. Totally fab! Its about our emotions and not feeling like we are coming "Unglued" everytime something happens...

"Once Upon A Time" is one of my favorite tv shows...When it was first advertised, I thought it was going to to be horrible, but I tuned in just to see how it was going to follow these fairty tales...and now I'm hooked....Tune in on Sunday Nights on ABC..

And lastly, because of the fall, its that time again for Pumpkin Spice Lattes! So, so, so yummy!

Fab 5 Friday ( On a Monday)
So last Friday, I was out of internet reach...aka...the boonies, so it was impossible to do a Fab 5 Friday from there...I suppose I could have done a post to auto post on Friday, but let's face it, I didn't think that far ahead...
So, to liven up your Monday, here is the Fab 5 post that should have been. You can now exhale, and enjoy!

Does this even need an explanation? I LOVE some Target. Our local store just upgraded us to one that actually has groceries. I was kinda excited. And ya'll...did you know that they give you coupons to use? I got one last night for $5 off women's clothing..totally excited. And it gives me an excuse to go shopping there...They are also doing a clearance, and I picked up a really cute dress for almost nothing! Score!!!!!!

And again, if you know me this is no surprise! I'm SO EXCITED that college football starts in just a little over a month! Tennessee plays in the Chick Fil A kick off game on Aug 31....I will glued to that tv! I am hoping that we have an awesome season, and Kick some SEC tail...er..I mean...that we play good ball this year... =)

While in Target yesterday, I picked up this lovely nail color. Its called "Hot Pursuit". Its a little more orange-y than it looks here, and I love it! It's a little more loud than what I normall wear, but I think it adds that nice pop of color! And it dries pretty fast, which is an excellent thing for me!
And Speaking of Sonia Kashuk's products (at Target)...I also love this one... I have switched over to this being my foundation now...and I LOVE LOVE LOVE...I use the Warm Tawny shade (first on the bottom row), and I think its just right! And I really like that it comes with the concealer and the cheek color that is in just the right shades!

And since this post is primarily about make up, let's round it out with this...The "elf" Kabuki Face Brush found at (where else?) Target...(I think I may have an addiction!)

I really like this brush! I use it with above said mineral powders and I think it offers a great, well blended application. And its so soft!!!
So, dearies...what are your Fab 5????
PS---Everything stated here, except where to find the items, are purely, and exclusively my own thoughts and opinions!

Friday Fab 5!
So- new tradition here on the blog....
Fab 5 Fridays! Each Friday (or the ones that I remember) I'll be telling you about 5 things that I think are Fabulous! Feel free to add your fab 5 in the comments!
Here we go....

This is a wonderful tote from 31. I have 3 of them, and I use them so incredibly much! Perfect for the pool, camping, and I have even packed clothes in it for a trip!
This is the Bible Study that a friend and I are doing this summer. We just started it, but I can tell its going to be GREAT!

The third fabulous thing this Friday is......Pinterest! Do you have an account? Seriously, this is the best idea on the web! I love being able to "pin" things and have them all in one place. Seriously, Amazing!

Next is----my iPhone...It does make life easier. I can virutally do anything with it that I can do on my MacBook. Love, Love, Love...I've had mine almost a year, and have had no issues with it what so ever. I waited 2 years to get one, and it was soo worth the wait!

Lastly, but not last in importance is this--

Being a long time Kenny fan, I really think that this is one of his best albums ever! I love the "Small Town" song, and of course, "Come Over." There are a lot of songs that come from great emotion on this album, and I have listened to it a ton!
So, what are your Fab 5 on this Friday? I wanna hear about them!
**I am in no way affiliated with any of these products, nor do I recieve any compensation from these companies, these are purely my own opinions!**

It has been a long week! It always seems that way when a holiday falls in the middle of the week. But I'm glad that the weekend is almost here. Next week is church camp, and I am really looking forward to it. A week away (not too far, but far enough!) in a beautiful location, and I can't wait! I'm looking forward to getting to know some of my church family as well. Hopefully this sore throat I have will go away before its time to head up the mountain. The hard part of it all is knowing what to pack! I have a tendency to pack way too many clothes, but I always want to have enough outfits in case I change my mind. This makes sense to no one but myself sometimes, but its just the way it is. I'm in search of a nice luggage set, but not one that costs a fortune. I've always just used a large duffel bag, or a Ver@ Br@adley Weekender Tote, but its just not big enough any more. Here's what I was thinking....
I need something with multiple bags, and cutesy--of course...I can't get the pics to post but one that I am considering is pink polka dotted..of course....cause that is soo me!
Anyway...nothing exciting going on here! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! Have a great weekend!

Oh goodness, has it been a long time since I have posted...so far, I'm not doing too well with my goal of posting on the blog on a regular basis! Things have been so busy in the last few months, and I've wanted to blog, but it will require so much back story, that sometimes I don't know that I have the energy...doesn't that sound bad? Life has been absolutely moving at a fast pace in the last few months. And it seems that everytime I makes plans for a change, then something comes up that changes that plan. but that just seems like life....
Hope to be more consistent soon!

The Beginning..
The beginning of a new blog is so much like the beginning of a new journal. I'm never really sure where to start and I hate those "let me introduce myself" things. I have/had another blog, but since all the life changes I don't feel like it really represents who I am now. So I created this one. This is a place where I can share my life, messy as it is, my thoughts and just a little piece of me. So, if you are reading this....welcome. Sit back. Relax. And enjoy the ride. Because my life is not perfect. Nope. Not by a long shot. But it's a good life...and I think that's beautiful!
